Where are your classes located?
We are based on the corner of Miller and Tate Streets in Coniston NSW 2500 behind the Coniston Public School. We also link with the wider KMA Black Belt Success Schools™ Community.
Do you offer group and private classes?
We offer both personal classes and group session. If you are interested in hosting a workshop contact us now.
How many people are in a group class?
Classes will range between 5-20 people. The larger the class, the more instructors to help out.
Will there be other beginners in my class?
Absolutely. There are always beginners in class. You are never alone on the mats. Even the black belts were white belts once. Ask for help when you are uncertain and someone will always clarify.
Will you help me with my nutritional habits?
You can schedule a personal appointment with an instructor to cover your specific questions. From time to time nutritional tips will be given in class.
Will your classes help me tone up?
Toning comes from a range of things. Exercise alone will not work. A combination of cardio, resistance training and proper diet will help you to tone! Martial arts is an excellent for of exercise and contains both isomorphic and resistance exercises.
How many classes per week should I attend?
We have classes 5 days a week so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule and the styles you wish to train. Most of our members train about 1-4 classes per week. Like most things, the more you time you put in on the mats, the more progress you will make.
Do I need to ‘get in shape’ before I start you classes?
A common misunderstanding is that you need to be ‘in shape’ before starting martial arts training at KMA. This is completely untrue. Our classes are designed to allow our members to train ‘at their own pace’. At the same time, they provide advanced student the opportunity to challenge themselves.

My child is rough will martial arts make them more violent?
One of the important facets of martial arts is knowing when to exercise force. Often children benefit from having guidelines for behaviour. Martial arts teaches respect and tolerance. The mats of the dojo provide a space for children to hit pads and not people and understand the difference.
My daughter is little and shy, will she be able to participate?
Everyone who participates in the martial arts is different. Martial arts provide an opportunity to find their own goals and achieve them. Achieving goals helps them grow their self-esteem. Our trainers are gentle and can work with all children of all ages, abilities and temperaments.
Are martial arts safe? Will I or my child get hurt?
Every sport contains some element of risk. All our trainers are professionals who are certified and assessed regularly. Safety is of utmost importance.
Do I have to SPAR?
No. Some students choose to push themselves and compete in varying forms of competition. We offer training for Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Brazilian Juijitsu (BJJ) and full contact Karate and Taekwondo (WTF) competitions. If you wish to compete we will guide you and can provide appropriate lessons. Please talk to your trainer if you wish to spar or participate in fight competitions
